Two things that hit me straight to the deepest part of me

Raise Your Voice a movie starring Hilary Duff
Jesus, Take the Wheel a song by Carrie Underwood

Just yesterday, I watched Raise Your Voice on dvd for the second time. I never thought that that movie would still affect me just like the first time I watched it. I still felt the same lump in my throat on that same scene. What I saw in that movie was something I wanted, but could never have. And when that something was gone in the movie, it felt like I lost it too. Only the thing is, how can I loose something I never had?

Carrie Underwood, for the sake of those who doesn't know, was the winner of the previous American Idol. This morning, I woke unusually early. What's more unusual was I went down for breakfast; I don't eat breakfast, I'd rather sleep till noon. I turned the tv on and switched to Studio23. Carrie's video of her song Jesus, Take the Wheel was playing. When I heard the lyrics, I was so swept away by it. The message of the song couldn't be clearer when you listen to it. Letting Jesus control your life, let Him be in the driver seat. Allow Him to take you to the right way on the road to your life. Crossroads? Detours? Don't fear, just trust. Trust in Him to lead you to the life He wants you to live. Have faith in Him and sit in the passenger seat.

The End of Everything

Goal

A word that almost everyone has used and achieved. Everything we do, there's always a goal, an end, in mind. Why do we sleep? Because we want to feel awake the next morning. Why do we play that video game for countless hours? Because we want to get pass that boss that's hard to beat. The end that we reach for.

There is that feeling of triumph, once we've reached our goal. But achieving some goals are sometimes not that easy. Often times sacrifices must be made in order to move forward. Wether we like it or not, there only one way to go and that is forward. No matter how far or near it is, just by having that determination to grasp it, we will prevail. I'm not saying the journey will be easy, yeah sometimes it is easy, but there will come a time in our life that it will be a hard journey to travel. But during the span of that journey, we get to learn something. I don't know what that is, but it is something that can change one's life.

Kick a football, and watch it soar through that goal. The end that we seek.

Score!
